CJP alleges internet shutdown at Jantar Mantar as 16 Metro stations remain closed

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) alleged that mobile internet services were shut down around the Jantar Mantar protest site on Wednesday night, according to reports by The Indian Express and Press Trust of India.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that 16 key stations across Central Delhi would remain closed for a second consecutive day on Thursday morning due to security instructions.

Internet disruptions reported

CJP organizers alleged on Wednesday evening that mobile data services were restricted or completely shut off in the vicinity of Jantar Mantar, raising concerns among demonstrators of potential police action overnight. Organizers including Abhijeet Dipke posted updates warning supporters of network blackouts near Sansad Marg.

Authorities have not officially confirmed a formal telecom suspension order for the area at the time of reporting.

Delhi Metro closures extended

DMRC confirmed via social media that 16 central stations—including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Mandi House, ITO, and Khan Market—remained closed starting 07:30 AM Thursday. Interchange facilities at major hubs like Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat remain operational for transit passengers.
