Cops' kin demand justice after CJP Jantar Mantar clashes

Families of Delhi Police personnel injured during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) agitation at Jantar Mantar held a press conference in New Delhi on Friday, saying officers faced sustained violence and that Parliament should hear their side alongside charges of police excess against students.

Seema, wife of an Assistant Sub-Inspector, said her husband's protective helmet shattered after stone hits. He returned home around 11 pm with the broken helmet, The Siasat Daily reported. "Had another stone struck his head after the helmet broke, he might not have survived," she said, arguing that public debate had focused on police force against students and not on injuries to officers. She asked that trauma to police families also be discussed in Parliament.

Constitution Club briefing

The Siasat Daily said the speakers included the wife of an Assistant Commissioner of Police, the wife of an ASI, and children of two injured officers, and that the presser was held at the Constitution Club of India.
