CJP Protest Girl, 15, Apologises After Video Abusing PM Modi Goes Viral

A 15-year-old girl who appeared in a viral video shouting abusive slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar has released an apology video, saying she was influenced by others at the demonstration and regretted her remarks.

The apology, which circulated on social media on Friday, comes after Noida Police registered a zero FIR against her on July 23 for "objectionable remarks" against the Prime Minister. The FIR was later transferred to Parliament Street police station in Delhi.

"I came under the influence of some people at the protest and said a lot of bad things against the Prime Minister," the girl says in the video. "Whatever I did was not worthy of forgiveness. I have said a lot of bad things."

Senior Delhi Police officers said on Friday they are still verifying the girl's identity and age. A decision on how to proceed with the investigation will be taken once verification is complete, officers told The Indian Express.
