Dipke Demands PM Modi Apologise for Police Action on '12-Year-Old Girls' at July 20 Sansad March

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday sought a direct apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the alleged police action against young protesters during the July 20 Sansad Chalo march, turning the Prime Minister's own forgiveness video into a counter-demand.

Reacting to Modi's late-night Instagram and X post — in which the Prime Minister said he had forgiven students who used abusive language against him and his late mother at the Jantar Mantar protest — Dipke said he expected another video addressing the lathi charge.

"Yesterday, we all saw Modi Ji's video in which he was saying that he was forgiving the kids. I think he will upload another video tonight in which, I hope, he will apologise for the lathi charge that happened on July 20. 12-year-old girls were hit on the head by the police. The women's clothes were torn. The police also hit girls on their private parts," Dipke said in a video posted on X.

"Thus, I want Modiji to apologise to those girls who the police beat with such brutality," he added.

Modi's Friday video, widely circulated on his official handles, described those accused of abusing him as "misguided children" who needed guidance instead of punishment or prolonged legal proceedings.

"Some mischievous children used very filthy abuses. Abuses were directed at me, and abuses were directed at my late mother as well," the Prime Minister said. He urged society to help reform the students rather than push them through courts.

"These are misguided children, and showing them the way is our duty; we will not be able to change circumstances by punishing them, making them run around the courts, or harassing them in society," Modi said, adding that society should not abandon children over their mistakes.

His remarks came the same day police registered a Zero FIR over a viral video allegedly showing a girl abusing him during the protest.
