Officers' Statements

  • ACP Vivek Bhagat (Connaught Place): Bhagat stated that he was moving from Regal Building toward the Tolstoy Marg–Sansad Marg intersection with a team of 5 to 6 personnel when pelting of water bottles and objects broke out. Bhagat said he attempted to rescue a bleeding police officer caught in the melee near a fence grill, during which he was struck with sharp-edged bricks and sustained facial bruises and chest impacts.
  • ACP Jai Prakash (Punjabi Bagh): Operating near Jantar Mantar barricades, Prakash reported being struck on the forehead by a hurled stone while officers formed a human chain to hold barricade lines. He was treated at hospital for a minor head fracture.
