Delhi Police Register FIR Over Alleged Assault on RAF Personnel Near Jantar Mantar

Delhi Police registered a First Information Report after Rapid Action Force personnel were allegedly assaulted near Jantar Mantar late on July 21, The Indian Express reported. The case was registered against unidentified people.

What happened

According to the police account reported by The Indian Express, the incident occurred near the Tolstoy Marg–Parliament Street intersection while RAF personnel were changing shifts. Police said the FIR includes allegations of assault on public servants under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The newspaper reported that a video circulating online showed two RAF personnel being attacked by a crowd. It also reported that the injured personnel were taken to hospital and that no arrests had been made at the time of publication.
